การฉลองความภาคภูมิใจ: เสียงพูด, การเปิดเผย, และชัยชนะ

ความภาคภูมิใจไม่ใช่แค่การฉลองความสุขเท่านั้น แต่เป็นการประกาศความสามัคคี ความรัก และสิทธิในการเป็นตัวของตนเอง ที่ Young Pride Club เรายืนอยู่ที่หน้าสุดของการรับรองว่าเสียงเหล่านี้ได้รับการขยายเสียง

ในเดือนธันวาคม 2022 ถนนในกรุงเทพฯ ก้องเสียงดังแห่งความเท่าเทียมและความรักในเวลา Thailand Pride Festival 2022 นี้เป็นการร่วมมือที่ยิ่งใหญ่ระหว่าง Young Pride Club และ CSOs ที่ทำงานเกี่ยวกับสิทธิ LGBTIQ+ และ HIV/AIDs ในประเทศไทย พาเรดเป็นสเปคเทคเกิลที่สุดของสีรุ้ง ด้วยมากกว่า 75 คนจาก 18 สถานทูตทั่วโลกที่เดินเท้าด้วยความภาคภูมิใจไปยังแยกจามจุรี ซึ่งเป็นสถานที่จัดงานของเทศกาล มูลนิธิ APCOM ที่มีสำนักงานในกรุงเทพฯ ยังเป็นทีมผู้จัดการที่รับผิดชอบในเวลาบ่ายถึงเย็นเพื่อส่งเสริมสิทธิของชุมชน LGBTQI

แต่ความภาคภูมิใจเป็นเรื่องที่ต้องจำได้เสมอ และสำหรับ Chiang Mai Pride นี่คือวันที่เราจำได้และใช้เวลาเรียนรู้ ในวันเสาร์ที่ 21 กุมภาพันธ์ 2020 เป็นวันที่เราจำได้ว่า 11 ปีที่แล้วในวันที่ 21 กุมภาพันธ์ 2009 การฉลองความภาคภูมิใจของเชียงใหม่ถูกขัดขวางและถูกปิดทิ้ง ตั้งแต่นั้นเชียงใหม่ไม่ได้มีการฉลองความภาคภูมิใจ เราใช้วันนี้เพื่อระลึกถึงเหตุการณ์นั้นและรวบรวมชุมชนเข้าด้วยกัน โครงข่าย LGBT และองค์กรในประเทศไทยที่ทำงานเกี่ยวกับเรื่องทางเพศและความหลากหลายทางเพศตลอด 11 ปีต้องการจัดงาน “CHIANG MAI PRIDE 2020”

นอกจากนี้ Youth Pride Thailand เป็นการเคลื่อนไหวที่เราเริ่มต้นขึ้น นี่เป็นความภาคภูมิใจครั้งแรกที่จัดขึ้นโดยและเพื่อ LGBTQ+ ในประเทศไทย ที่กรุงเทพฯ ด้วยการสนับสนุนจากสถานทูตสหรัฐฯและองค์กรสำคัญที่ทำงานเกี่ยวกับสิทธิของเยาวชน ผู้นำของเราเข้าร่วมเพื่อส่งเสริมการทำงานแสวงหาของพวกเขา มากกว่า 500 ผู้เข้าร่วมได้ลงทะเบียนเพื่อเข้าร่วมงานของเรา

Celebrating Pride: Voices, Visibility, and Victory

Pride is not just a celebration; it’s a declaration of unity, love, and the right to be. At Young Pride Club, we stand at the forefront of ensuring these voices are amplified.

In December 2022, the streets of Bangkok echoed with the chants of equality and love during the Thailand Pride Festival 2022. Orchestrated at the bustling Sathon-Narathiwat intersection, this event was a monumental collaboration between the Young Pride Club and CSOs dedicated to championing LGBTIQ+ rights and combating HIV/AIDs in Thailand. The parade was a rainbow-colored spectacle, with over 75 representatives from 18 global embassies marching with pride towards Chamchuri Square, the epicenter of the festival. An invaluable ally in our endeavor, the APCOM Foundation, based in Bangkok, took charge in the evening, further championing the rights of the LGBTQI community.

But Pride is as much about our past as our future. Chiang Mai Pride stands as a solemn reminder and testament to this. The 21st of February 2020 marked a day of reflection and unity. A day to remember an event that occurred 11 years prior when pride festivities in Chiang Mai faced a severe backlash and were shut down. This day serves as a poignant reminder of our community’s struggles and the resilience we’ve showcased. With a vision to renew hope and unity, we aimed to host “CHIANG MAI PRIDE 2020”, encompassing seminars, parades, remembrance ceremonies, and even a contest for the Chiang Mai Pride Ambassador 2020.

However, the future shines brightest with our youth. Youth Pride Thailand was a pioneering initiative, the first-ever pride organized by and for LGBTQ+ youth in Thailand. Located in the heart of Bangkok and supported by the U.S. Embassy and prominent youth rights organizations, this event was a manifestation of our young leaders’ zeal to promote their activism. A staggering 500+ participants registered, echoing the sentiment that the future of Pride, and indeed of equality, is in secure hands.
